Reading this as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and not an NFL Draft geek, I’d be okay with this haul from the team.

I know many would be pissed about Pickens going for only an early 3rd Round pick, but I’d be okay with it.

Great job as always Andrew!

Thank you!

Pickens will definitely throw a wrench into things, but I’m not sure we can garner much more than that. Would love to be wrong about that. I could live with the results of this even though it may not be my perfect scenario.

I’m just not sure why so many Steelers fans seem eager to trade Pickens away. I’d love to see what the Pickens/Metcalf duo could do. That looks likely to be our best 1-2 punch at WR since the Stallworth/Swann combo.

I would too, but I also don’t see us as Super Bowl contenders this year. And I don’t see the Steelers re-signing him. Thus, if you can get something valuable for him, do it while you can. I love George as a player but the Steelers aren’t paying big money to 2 guys.

I don’t think the Steelers not paying George is the foregone conclusion many think it is. It’s not like we don’t have a fair amount of Cap space to work with.

Historically speaking, though, it is not a position the Steelers pay big money to, and I don’t think the Steelers want to model the Bengals by paying 2 WRs. They will struggle to build the D without funds to allocate to it

Very curious when the running backs go and if that’s the position we get a run on this year. Andrew and Betz have great draft coverage. Good stuff guys! Looking forward to the live streams when I can make it.

Man I just can’t see the Steelers trading a very good player that’s still on a rookie deal for a pick that’s lower than where they originally picked him. It simply doesn’t make sense. IF they keep him for 25 and let him walk, he’s gonna sign a deal that sets them up for a potential third round comp pick. No way I kneecap my team by dealing him for what I can get by just letting him walk after the season. OK is smarter than this. Wholly hell he got a TWO for Claypool.

I understand what you are saying, but a lot depends on whether or not he will be a distraction if he is kept on the roster. I hope we get more for him, but I just don’t see it ending well if he stays around with DK as the #1

Managing diva players is one of Tomlin’s super powers, and GP’s in a contract year, he’s not gonna be a problem. Have faith.

Is it a superpower? Personally I don’t think he handled AB, Bell, and other diva players well at all. He tries to ignore the problem and not giving it recognition rather than disciplining.

Yes. He’s handled many a diva. We don’t know what happened in house with any of them regarding discipline, or even how they’re handled on a daily basis, but after they left Pittsburgh things very publicly did not go well.

I think this is the correct take.

AB went from a 6th round pick to a potentially HOF career under Tomlin and did almost nothing afterward.

Bell is still one of the top RBs in Steeler history and who knows what happens if he had come back in 2018. Personally, I think Steelers maybe make a Super Bowl run that year, instead of missing the playoffs.

I don’t think Bell’s issues were Tomlin as much as the way the franchise valued him and that’s what most got into his head and derailed his career. Not sure what more Tomlin could have done.

I get what you’re saying, but I think Tomlin is too soft at times and doesn’t address internal problems until they are no longer internal.

If Will Johnson is still there at 21, I’d be speed-dialing my pick in. My son played High School ball with a Michigan player. He said that best player he ever played with or against during his time at Michigan and in the B1G was Will Johnson.

I’d rather have a wet bag of sawdust than Will Howard. How could someone with that much talent around him in college be that Meh. He’s hard pass for me.

Can’t wait for tonight!

P.S. I love the effort that Andrew puts into these. Can’t wait for the “Way to soon 2026 mock”!

He also played High School Ball with LB Marlow Wax from Syracuse. I’d love to bring him in as a priority FA. He was the best played on their High School team, and there were a fair amount of D1 players on that team.

Wasn’t a hard worked. Got by on talent. Had a a significantly over inflated value of himself.

He did have amazing talent though; just not sure that is enough at this level.

Exact opposite of Marlow Wax.

Trading Pickens for a high 3 seems like it will really set up the draft well for the team. Love the work you’ve done this year Wilbar!
I really like the positions you’ve addressed as well as the players you selected for them. I would be very happy if the draft could somehow go exactly like this. (Never gonna happen,I know).
The cherry on top, however, was the Browns drafting Shitdoer Sanders. Kudos sir!
