2025 NFL Power Rankings: League Hierarchy Post NFL Draft
The NFL Draft is in the books, and each team did it’s best to improve their rosters and put together a winning plan for 2025. The awesome and fun thing about the NFL is that plan looks a little different for each organization, and every fanbase has new hope and excitement for their team ahead of the long offseason to come.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at where each team falls in my initial Power Rankings for the 2025 NFL Season following the Draft.
1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
The Eagles return the deepest roster from top to bottom in football once again, despite their losses up front this offseason. They used the Draft to replenish their depth on both sides of the ball, while 1st Round Pick Jihaad Campbell will add playmaking ability against the run and pass as a flawless fit into Vic Fangio’s defense.
2. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Adding talent to the OL in front of Mahomes was priority #1 and accomplished throughout this offseason. Landing OT Josh Simmons with the final pick of the 1st Round could end up being the steal of the Draft.
3. BALTIMORE RAVENS
Baltimore did what they always do and let the Draft fall to them, landing 2 plug & play prospects in SAF Malachi Starks & ED Mike Green with their top picks that fill needs and make this defense really scary on paper.
4. DETROIT LIONS
The Lions, to no one’s surprise, focused on the trenches in this Draft, landing OSU DT Tyleik Williams & UGA OG Tate Ratledge with their 1st two selections. Getting nastier up front on both sides of the ball was goal #1 for Dan Campbell’s squad. Mission accomplished.
5. BUFFALO BILLS
BUF addressed their biggest holes by drafting CB Max Hairston and then 3 straight D-Linemen with their 1st four picks, but despite GM Brandon Beane’s dissent, I do think they should have address WR at some point in this class. Eventually you need someone to be an easy button on the outside for Josh Allen.
6. LOS ANGELES RAMS
Sean McVay and Les Snead once again said “Goodbye” to their 1st Round pick in a trade back with the Giants, collecting a 1st Rounder next year, but they still were able to add an ultra-athletic pass-catcher in TE Terrance Ferguson and some help along the defensive front to bolster their chances at getting back to a Super Bowl in 2025.
7. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Washington’s early offseason trading spree came at a cost during the NFL Draft where they only came away with 5 selections. That’s not to say they didn’t add some talent to the roster. OT Josh Conerly, Jr. and CB Trey Amos are both good prospects who filled major needs, but there’s a chance the team had more holes than they’ve made moves this offseason.
8. MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Similarly to Washington, the Vikings 2024 Draft manipulations left them without much in the way of Draft capital for this offseason. I liked the 1st Round selection of OG Donovan Jackson, although it was a little early, but investing in the OL is always a great idea. The rest of their Draft left me scratching my head, though, with obvious holes in the secondary ignored throughout the selection process.
9. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
The Chargers came into the offseason with a plan to get more diverse and explosive on offense. Mission accomplished with an impressive Draft haul, including RB Omarion Hampton and WR Tre Harris in Rounds 1 & 2 respectively. They also wanted to get more physical up front on Defense, and DT Jamaree Caldwell and ED Kyle Kennard should factor into that equation in year 1.
10. HOUSTON TEXANS
What an intriguing Draft by the Texans, starting with the selections of college teammate WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Both players have a chance to be effective receivers in the NFL despite being completely different prospects stylistically. It will be a fascinating study watching both guys fit into this offense. Meanwhile, OT Aireontae Ersery might be the most impactful selection for HOU along a talent-deficient OL. They need this Draft class to step up if they want to improve in 2025.
11. GREEN BAY PACKERS
WR Matthew Golden is exactly the do-it-all receiver the Packers needed to add to give Jordan Love an easy-button outlet that can line up anywhere and just get open. My other favorite selection for GB was ED Barryn Sorrell in the 4th Round. His explosiveness and motor should allow him to get on the field and contribute to a pass-rush desperate team in the Packers.
12. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
The Steelers “meat-and-potatoes” class of 2025 was calculated and impressive, although it won’t be flashy or fun to outside viewers. DTs Darrick Harmon and Yahya Black, along with ED Jack Sawyer will provide physicality up front that the team lacked against big-time teams down the stretch in 2024, and RB Kaleb Johnson (my favorite player-to-team fit in the whole Draft) will add levels of explosiveness to the backfield that the Steelers desperately need.
13. CINCINNATI BENGALS
The Bengals boom or bust Draft has me intrigued, although I don’t love the process or the picks overall. Landing ED Shemar Stewart in the 1st Round is a dice roll for upside and athleticism, and if it works, Cincy may have something to build on up front on a defense that was run over all season in 2024. OG Dylan Fairchild out of UGA should give Joe Burrow some added protection up the middle as well. If the D is any better this season than last, the Bengals might be back.
14. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
I didn’t love the Buc’s Draft on initial reaction, but WR Emeka Egbuka will play right away and be an eventual replacement for one of Mike Evans or Chris Godwin, and the team’s focus on Defense throughout the rest of the Draft was exactly what they needed to improve that side of the ball, which had gotten old and slow over the last couple years.
15. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
The Niners first 5 picks all addressed the Defensive side of the ball, and that makes a lot of sense when you turn on the ’24 tape and watch a Defense that felt soft at times in an off year for the perennial contenders. Kyle Shannahan said “No more” with his selections of ED Mykel Williams, DT Alfred Collins, LB Nick Martin, CB Upton Stout, and DT CJ West. This Robert Saleh Defense 2.0 feels toothier already.
16. DENVER BRONCOS
Is this the sleeper contender in the AFC after a good offseason saw the team add talent at key positions, filling big needs in the process? CB Jahdae Barron was good value at 20th overall, and RB RJ Harvey figures to be Payton’s Alvin Kamara-like playmaker out of the backfield in 2025. If 2nd year QB Bo Nix continues his assent, watch out for the Broncos.
17. CHICAGO BEARS
I’m extremely high on this Bears squad ahead of 2025, despite kind of a winding Draft haul that flashed big-name additions and surprising reaches. I love TE Colston Loveland in this offense, along with WR Luther Burden III, and combining those players with the additions made through trade and in Free Agency along the OL makes me excited for this squad’s potential in 2025.
18. ATLANTA FALCONS
The Falcons continue to defy traditional thought when it comes to their Draft process under HC Raheem Morris & GM Terry Fontenot. Last year, it was the surprise selection of QB Michael Penix Jr. (which feels like the right move in hindsight) and now this offseason, it was the trade back into the 1st this year to take ED James Pierce after already taking an ED defender at their original pick in UGA super athlete Jaylon Walker at 15 overall. ATL desperately needed juice off the edge, and the combo of Walker and Pierce is at least the most exciting ED duo they’ll have had in a while.
19. DALLAS COWBOYS
I liked the Cowboys’ focus on the trenches early in the Draft, adding massive OG Tyler Booker in the 1st and an explosive ED defender with size in Donovan Ezeiruaku. Conversely I thought they mishandled their offseason by not adding a legitimate threat at WR opposite CeeDee Lamb. The ‘Boys remain in limbo in my opinion.
20. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
The Jags made the boldest move of the Draft going up to 2 Overall for the class’s best player, WR/CB Travis Hunter. He can help them on both sides of the ball where they were weakest. The Jags have a solid nucleus in place if this coaching staff can figure out how to use it.
21. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
The Patriots are the most improved team of the offseason, and their draft plays a big part in that story. They turned all 6 picks of their picks in the Top 140 into potential starters, and set up 2nd year QB Drake Maye for quite a leap this year.
22. ARIZONA CARDINALS
I absolutely loved the Cardinals’ Draft. They landed one of the best values in the class with Will Johnson in Rd. 2, and you have to love what a talent like Walter Nolan will bring to the table for HC Jonathan Gannon’s defense.
23. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Another NFC West squad with an outstanding Draft haul, the Seahawks filled roster gaps and added gambles like QB Jalen Milroe at value to help them improve in the margins of the roster and add excitement for the future. I believe in HC Mike MacDonald’s vision for this team.
24. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
The Raiders said “screw it” and took the RB in the Top 6 anyway, but when that RB is a prospect like Ashton Jeanty, positional value rightly falls to a secondary consideration. Pete Carroll’s new-look “Raiduhs” will be an intriguing story to follow this season.
25. MIAMI DOLPHINS
Miami feels like a team stuck in Limbo, much like the Cowboys, only without some of the bigger name talent on the roster that Dallas has. Still, I like that they prioritized the trenches in this Draft, landing intriguing players like DTs Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips, and OL Jonah Savaiinaea to help a team with a soft reputation look a little more imposing than it did 2 weeks ago.
26. CAROLINA PANTHERS
I do like what the Panthers have done to help out QB Bryce Young heading into Year 3, and HC Dave Canales and Co. put together a solid Draft, landing my WR1 in Tet McMillan at 8 Overall and then spending 4 of their next 5 picks to help out the worst defensive roster in football from 2024. We’ll see if it was enough to pull CAR from the league basement.
27. NEW YORK JETS
It’s hard to get too excited about the Jets in this transition year, but they do have some playmakers and 1st year HC Aaron Glenn and his staff put together a really solid “meat and potatoes” Draft haul to start the ball rolling on their rebuild. 1st Round OT Armand Membou is a special athlete and a Day 1 starter, and the rest of their class looks to contribute and fill out depth roles as early as Year 1.
28. CLEVELAND BROWNS
It’s hard to hate what Cleveland did in the Draft, even if you want to because it was unconventional. Moving out of Pick 2 and missing out on Travis Hunter was an interesting choice, but it made sense for a team setting up for a reset and needing future Draft capital. Then there was the 2 QB selections, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, in Rounds 3 & 5 respectively. Just a wild process for CLE even though I think it looks good in the end, especially with some of the mid-round talent they acquired. They probably won’t be good this year, but it was a good start to get back to relevance.
29. NEW YORK GIANTS
The Defense could be special with ED Abdul Carter and DT Darius Alexander added into an already deep and disruptive mix of players up front on D. I didn’t like trading back up into Rd. 1 for QB Jaxson Dart, but they had the leeway to do so with Russ Wilson and Jameis Winston ahead of him on the Depth Chart. I could be too low on this team when it’s all said and done.
30. TENNESSEE TITANS
The Titans believe they finally got their guy at QB in Cam Ward with the 1st overall pick in the Draft, and it’s hard to argue against that. That said, is this the right coaching staff to oversee his growth and development? I do have concerns about that.
31. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Nothing about this team excites me, but they did have a nice Draft haul that could expedite their journey back to real relevance down the line, but that’s if they work out in a substantial way. 1st Rd OT Kelvin Banks is coming off an injury, and 2nd Rd QB Tyler Shough, though talented, is a bit of a risky play at the game’s most important position due to his age (he’ll turn 26 in September) and injury history. They had a lot of picks and brought in a lot of talent. We’ll see if it moves the needle.
32. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
The Colts don’t have a great roster overall, and they may have more questions than anyone outside of Cleveland about what they’re going to do at QB. Daniel Jones is in play of Anthony Richardson struggles again. However, landing Tyler Warren where they did and adding a high-motor disruptor off the Edge in JT Tuimoloau at least gives them some exciting early picks to pique fans interest.
There you have it! My 1-32 Power Rankings for every team Post-NFL Draft. Let me know where I messed up in the comments, or if I got it right! Let’s discuss!
Shough will be 26 on 28 Sep 2025. Come on, author.
Thanks MattCat. I thought it was a year older. Adjusted accordingly
Thank you in return, Mr. Betz. Will catch you on Sunday.
Whew. You’re a lot more optimistic than I am. Assuming you wrote this before the Pickens trade?
Maybe…
Yes this was written prior to the Pickens trade.
