2025 Steelers Schedule Preview: Week 7 at the Cincinnati Bengals
It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.
Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2025 regular season schedule, by week.
Week 7 at the Cincinnati Bengals
Date: Sunday, October 16th – 8:15pm EST
TV: Amazon Prime (Thursday Night Football)
Betting Line: Bengals (-4.5) / Total: 42.5 / Moneyline: Bengals -218 / Steelers +165
Last Meeting: 1/4/2025 – Bengals 19, Steelers 17
Overall Series Record: Pittsburgh Steelers lead series 71-40-0
2024 Records:
Steelers: 10-7
Bengals: 9-8
Projected Starting QB Matchup: Aaron Rodgers vs. Joe Burrow
Analysis: The Steelers and Bengals Week 7 game will mark the Steelers second, and second consecutive, AFC North divisional game. While the Steelers will be playing the Browns off a bye week, and Cleveland coming off an international game, the Steelers will travel to the Bengals on a short week for Thursday Night Football.
The high-powered Bengals offense vs. the Steelers new-look defense.
The Steelers offense vs. the Bengals lowly defense.
These are just on paper, but this has the making of a shootout. I think back to the 2024 visit to Cincinnati when the Steelers set a lot of season highs in both points and yards scored. However, I have learned enough to know how difficult it is for the visiting teams on Thursday night games.
I don’t see the Steelers winning this game, even in a shootout, and it drops their record to 4-2 after the first six games of the 2025 regular season.
Prediction: Bengals 31, Steelers 28
As we continue our breakdowns of the Steelers 2025 schedule, you can see those past breakdowns below:
Week 2: vs. the Seattle Seahawks
Week 3: at the New England Patriots
Big switch from previous week, Steelers are fairly large underdogs, today. I agree that the O/U is set low… unfortunate result. Needed a better pass rush, or MF39 to block that FG attempt to force OT… then Pgh gets the upset. Oh, wait… no MF39, now…
Hope we find a home win vs. a tough Packers team next week. AARod will be up for that one…
I don’t see a win here either. I think they go into this game overconfident coming off a dominant win VS a bad Browns team, and get a reality check.
Agreed, sadly… I really dislike the Bengals, but I must be pragmatic. Burrow could hurt himself against the Packers, that’d be okay.
I think the Bengals are getting slept on heavy. Seven of their eight losses were by a td or less. They have a terrible defense, but you can pile up wins with an elite offense. This is the start of a very tough schedule. I think the Steelers are a better team than last year 100%, but the schedule is very tough imo
Beginning with night game @ Chargers, and especially Bills, @ Ravens, Dolphins, and @ Lions. Third-most difficult stretch this coming season due to rest disadvantage, per Sharp. Plus the Bengals get a full bye prior to the second Pgh game. Most difficult schedule overall, Week 7 onward.
a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan, since the 70’s with safety Minkah Fitzpatrick traded Joe Burrow can test the middle of the field and who is washed up CB Jalen Ramsey going to cover
Thornhill should be fine here, have faith, though adding Blackmon might be a good idea, if at reasonable cost. Ramsey likely plays against Gesicki or Iosivas, or perhaps Higgins on passing downs.
