30 Scenarios in 30 Days: Aaron Rodgers will start all 17 games in 2025
The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the 2025 regular season, but before the real games begin, the team has to head to training camp back at Saint Vincent College in order to fine tune their skills. As we here at SCN prepare you for the start of camp, we give you a series called “30 Scenarios in 30 Days” which gives you a Steelers scenario every day leading up to the start of camp.
It is simple how it works. We provide you the scenario, reasons why it will or won’t happen, and then our prediction for what we think will take place.
Let’s get to the scenario…
Scenario: Aaron Rodgers will start all 17 games in 2025
Why it will happen: Believe it or not, Aaron Rodgers has been extremely durable throughout his career, both in Green Bay and New York. Yes, I’m aware he missed almost the entire 2023 season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, but other than that Rodgers has been able to be in the lineup more than he hasn’t.
Since becoming the starter for the Packers, there have only been three seasons when Rodgers failed to play at least 15 games in a season. A sign of his ability to play through minor injury, and also to keep himself available to the team. Last season with the Jets Rodgers played banged up for most of the year, but played in all 17 games for the New York.
Unlike in years past, where the question is who will be the Steelers quarterback, and if they possibly make a switch midseason, there is no doubt who is the QB1 heading into the season. For this reason, I don’t foresee a situation where Rodgers plays himself out of the starting role…outside of the team locking up a playoff sot and not playing starters in Week 18 of the regular season. In other words, I think the only thing keeping him out of the lineup, in his last NFL season, would be injury.
Why it won’t happen: The fact of the matter is Rodgers isn’t getting any younger, and at age 41, will be 42 in December, he could be more prone to injury than any other time in his career. This doesn’t mean it is a certainty to happen, but absolutely increases the chances of him missing games.
While Rodgers states he is completely healed from his Achilles Tendon rupture in 2023, those are the types of injuries which can plague aging players in the NFL.
When it comes to the scenario, it is just Rodgers starting all 17 games. In a perfect world, the Steelers could potentially be in the playoffs and locked up their position prior to Week 18. If that’s the case, and Rodgers has led the Steelers the entire season, it could be Mason Rudolph at quarterback the final week, and that would mean this scenario is dead in the water.
Prediction: The one factor which didn’t get added into the equation above is the offensive line. Will they be able to keep Rodgers clean when he is throwing the ball, and will they be able to lessen the pressure on him by also opening up holes in the running game.
As much as I’d love to say the Steelers have locked up a playoff spot, I don’t necessarily see that happening. However, I feel the Steelers style on offense this year will be conducive to keeping the quarterback healthy. Therefore, I believe Rodgers will stay healthy, be productive, and will start all 17 games for the Steelers in 2025.

The Steelers will go above and beyond their win-loss prediction in 2025
The Steelers will throw more INTs than last season
Hmm, it’d be okay for me if AARod was held out of Week 18 for rest prior to the playoffs, 16 games.
