4 players mentioned by Mike Tomlin following Wednesday’s practice
The Pittsburgh Steelers were on the practice field at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in Pittsburgh for practice on Wednesday before the team four days off. Following practice, head coach Mike Tomlin briefly addressed the media about their day on the field. Since he was asked about a number of players, I am excited to continue the players mentioned article at Steel Curtain Network for another week beyond training camp! Remember these are players where a specific question was asked during the Q&A.
Corliss Waitman
Coach Tomlin was asked what went into the punting decision to go with Corliss Waitman.
“They both were varsity. Corliss was a little bit better.”
Joey Porter Jr., Jalen Ramsey, & Darius Slay
Coach Tomlin was asked how Joey Porter Jr. is coming along and developed in this game. In his response, Coach Tomlin also mentioned Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay.
“It’s a big year for him. Year three man. He’s really excited about it. I think it’s really good to have some established veterans around him that have kind of been over some of the ground that he aspires to cover. Guys like Jalen and Slay are really helpful to him in terms of just having been there and done that. He’s had a good process. I think the company he keeps, those two savvy veterans, has a lot to do with it as well.
