Cam Heyward and the Heyward House complete another Three Rivers Classic softball game
The Pittsburgh Steelers are slated to return to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA next Wednesday, July 23rd, for their 2025 training camp. It marks the first official day of team work beginning, but that doesn’t mean players aren’t enjoying their last few days of freedom before getting back to dorm life on campus.
For Cam Heyward and his Heyward House organization it was time for their annual Three Rivers Classic softball game. The game, which is played in Washington, PA where the Washington Wild Things play their home games, has a host of Steelers involved along with other celebrities and athletes which cross multiple sports.
It is the typical format of Team Offense vs. Team Defense, with names like Cam Heyward, Christian Kuntz, Will Howard, Jack Sawyer, and other Steelers helping to raise money for the Heyward House throughout the evening. There are autographs signed, an actual softball game, and a Home Run Derby to cap off the evening.
Here are some quick clips of both rookie outside linebacker Jack Sawyer and long snapper Christian Kuntz hitting home runs during the softball game last evening.

Cam Heyward got in on the home run action during the home run derby. The swing might not be pretty, but it was effective.

For those who don’t know, the Heyward House does a lot of charity work in and around the Pittsburgh area. Everything from providing back-to-school supplies for in-need children, giving out jackets before the winter, and helping to provide suits to people who are trying to prepare for a job interview.Β The Heyward House does tremendous work, and is a large reason why Heyward was awarded the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year award by the NFL.
Keep an eye on some of these players towards the end of training camp to see if they can also claim the Steelers annual Home Run Derby at Saint Vincent College. While Heyward likely won’t participate, it is always fun to see these football players show off their athleticism in other realms, like softball.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the rest of the offseason before reporting to camp next week.
I always love seeing this. And it’s awesome seeing a rookie join in on the action!
Cam is one of my all time favorites. All hail Captain Cam!
Best down DL in Pgh since Mean Joe. My dad liked Ernie Stautner, until he went to Dallas to coach.
