Jaire Alexanders signs one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens
When the Green Bay Packers announced they were releasing cornerback Jaire Alexander, the speculation on where he would end up in 2025 began.
Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers were immediately in the conversation for potentially bringing in the veteran defensive back, but as Alexander weighed his options, he chose another AFC North team has his own.
As was reported Wednesday, Alexander chose to sign a one-year, $4 million dollar deal with $2 million dollars in play-time incentives. This per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer:
New @Ravens CB Jaire Alexander signing a one-year, $4 million deal with $2 million in play-time incentives on top of that, source said. Missed 20 games the last year, so the structure makes sense.
Had $17.5 million on his deal in Green Bay for 2025, before the Packers cut him.

Alexander has had issues staying healthy, and chose a one-year deal as a prove-it opportunity to get another hefty contract in the NFL. Will Alexander be a permanent fixture in the Ravens’ secondary? Or will he continue to battle with nagging injuries which have him in and out of the lineup?
After all, there was a reason the Packers just cut ties with him rather, despite several reports of teams looking to potentially trade for him prior to the 2025 NFL Draft.
As for what’s next for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team will continue to search for potential players to acquire, but most likely the position will be at wide receiver, not necessarily defensive back. In the meantime, if Alexander does stay healthy, he will make the Ravens defense even more formidable next season.

Their secondary is absolutely stacked. Him taking a pay cut to play with his former college teammate. Not too surprised to be honest.
Time to punish them with the run game I guess. That secondary is scary.
If Alexander is on the Field.
Jaire may not even start, Ravens already have Humphries, Wiggins, and Awuzie, along with those two rookies. Awuzie was hired inexpensively, though, maybe he gets pushed out.
So Shedeur was ticketed for driving 101 mph in a 60 mph zone. Hope he wasn’t using the Rolls.
Yawn. They can have him.
