The Steelers will remain in camp through their first preseason game, a trip to Jacksonville, but break camp before their second preseason game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With that being said, if the Steelers finalize a joint practice with Tampa Bay, it would be held at Acrisure Stadium, like they did with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, and not open to the public.

I have a lot of nostalgia of training camp because of NFL films for some reason. You always see the ā€œa football lifeā€ or ā€œAmericas gameā€ and they always have the humble beginnings of these guys and show clips of training camp. Idk maybe that’s just me. It’s just fun anticipating the season. Went in 2017 and enjoyed it. Cool seeing Ben and AB up close

Probably makes more sense to hold joint practice in Pgh.

I finally went to training camp in 2018 & 2019. I think I’ve shared this before, but I made those trips from my current home in north central Indiana (the State of, not the PA city of…). The hilarious thing is that we (my wife and four kids and I) lived in Plum Borough in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh from 1989 through 1998 — we were about 30 minutes from Latrobe — and I never once made a training camp practice when it was right there. LOL. Although I DID play in a Chamber of Commerce golf outing at Arnold Palmer’s Latrobe Country Club one day while a training camp practice was going on! šŸ˜‰

So you were in the same area as Pat McAfee?

Yes. Pat is from Plum Borough. I ran the YMCA in Plum Borough. Pat (and Missi Matthews from the Steelers media team) were both in the same grade as my oldest son and all were in Plum schools. If we hadn’t moved to Indiana when he was in 6th grade, he would have graduated with them.

EDIT: I actually think Missi may have been a couple years ahead of my son and McAfee…
