Pittsburgh Steelers announce release of 13 more players
All 32 NFL teams have until Tuesday at 4pm EST to cut their rosters from 90 players to the league mandated 53 players. A few days ago the team announced 11 players who were released, and Monday they announced the release of 13 more players.

Earlier Monday rumors hit social media of punter Cameron Johnston being released, and the team announced that release along with 12 other players.
Here is the official list:
– LB Mark Robinson
– LB Julius Welschof
– RB Lew Nichols
– FB/RB/TE Max Hurleman
– WR Lance McCutcheon
– TE JJ Galbreath
-OL Steven Jones
– OL Aiden Williams
– DT Kyler Baugh
– DB D’Shawn Jamison
– DB Daryl Porter
– K Ben Sauls
– P Cam Johnston
To be honest, there weren’t many surprises with the aforementioned list of players released. Outside of Johnston, the closest player who could be viewed as a shock is Mark Robinson, one of the remaining players from the Kevin Colbert era of Steelers history.
There were also players who could be added to the team’s practice squad if they clear waivers. Players like Max Hurleman, Lew Nichols, and even JJ Galbreath could all be candidates to be on the practice squad, if the team has the opportunity to sign them.
Nonetheless, with 24 players released it moves the Steelers’ roster to 66 players. Basic mathematics show the team still needs to figure out what to do with those extra 13 players. Will some be moved to Injured Reserve (IR)? If so, who will land on that list? Will some be brought back immediately after players are put on IR, assuming they aren’t on the list to return?

Wow! I’m shocked at Waitman winning the job! He’s the guy I wanted, so Ill say sorry now Steelers nation.
No real surprises. Yet 😉
I thought Mark Robinson had a shot to stick around, but Bruner is both younger and cheaper. Makes sense.
I like Max Hurleman alot, but he was always destined for the PS. The dropped TD sealed his fate.
Waitman is both younger and substantially cheaper. He had a solid all-around season last year. Both guys are extremely solid and enjoyed strong pre-season performances. I like both players, but this decision only makes dollars and cents in my opinion 😉
I’ll miss Robinson. When he saw the play, he was a heck of a banger.
