Predicting the Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 schedule
Live NFL football is finally here, and before long, our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers will be taking the field to begin their preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With rosters across the league primarily in place, it is time to take a look at the Steelers 2025 schedule and predict the outcome of each game.
The Steelers will certainly be a new-look team in 2025, with Aaron Rodgers and Jalen Ramsey headlining an unusually splashy offseason. While the AFC certainly looks daunting on paper, injuries do occur, and it is apparent the Steelers believe they are legitimate contenders.
Here is my prediction of every game on the Steelers 2025 schedule.
Week 1- at New York Jets, 1:00 ET on CBS
Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields have swapped teams, and both quarterbacks are sure to play with a chip on their shoulder. I understand what the Steelers offer on paper, but Week 1 is not always kind to the Steelers. I think we see an ugly, low-scoring game, but Pittsburgh’s knowledge of Fields could work to their favor.
Prediction: Steelers win 16-10 (1-0)
Week 2- Seattle Seahawks, 1:00 ET on FOX
Mike McDonald is a great defensive mind, but will he have his team ready to play a 1:00 game in Pittsburgh? It is never easy for West Coast teams to play these games, especially if it is Pittsburgh’s home opener. Easy choice here.
Prediction: Steelers win 20-17 (2-0)
Week 3- at New England Patriots, 1:00 ET on CBS
I still despise the Patriots organization and would love nothing more than a victory here, this feels like a trap game. Drake Maye showed promise last season, and his supporting cast is much better this year. With a strong two-headed rushing attack, I worry about the damage they could do if the Steelers do not come prepared.
Prediction: Patriots win 24-20 (2-1)
Week 4- Minnesota Vikings, 9:30am ET on NFL Network
Playing in Ireland has its challenges, but there should certainly be motivation to win this one for the ownership. J.J. McCarthy is not a rookie, but he did not play due to injury in 2024. Thus, he is very much a rookie, and we know Mike Tomlin’s history against these quarterbacks.
Prediction: Steelers win 23-19 (3-1)
Week 5- Bye Week
Week 6- Cleveland Browns, 1:00 ET on CBS
We don’t know who will be playing quarterback for the Browns in this matchup, but regardless of whom they choose, this team has a lot of issues, and it will take master mindedness from Kevin Stefanski to keep them from being a bottom-feeder team in 2025.
Prediction: Steelers win 28-15 (4-1)
Week 7- at Cincinnati Bengals (TNF), 8:15 ET on Amazon Prime
I love the idea of Thursday Night Football, but the Steelers never come prepared for these games. On top of that, this is the time of year when the Bengals finally decide to get serious and play to their capability.
Prediction: Bengals win 34-21 (4-2)
Week 8- Green Bay Packers, 8:20 ET on NBC
Aaron Rodgers gets his even-bigger rematch in primetime, but the Packers are a deep, young team that can compete with anybody in the NFC. I do believe in the power of determination, and I do not see Aaron Rodgers letting himself have a bad game, but I am not sure it will be enough
Prediction: Packers win 27-24 (4-3)
Week 9- Indianapolis Colts, 1:00 ET on CBS
If Anthony Richardson can remain healthy and focused, this team has the talent to surprise people. The Steelers typically handle running quarterbacks well, but after an emotional win for Aaron Rodgers against his former team, I think he comes out flat.
Prediction: Colts win 19-13 (4-4)
Week 10- at Los Angeles Chargers, 8:20 ET on NBC
Jim Harbaugh took the Chargers further than most people expected last season, and with Justin Herbert seemingly in a much better place than he was a year ago, this is not a team people want to play. Despite that, playing at Los Angeles is an easy venue to play in, considering their lack of a fan base, and the Steelers typically perform well on Sunday Night Football. This one is close, but I think the Steelers eek it out.
Prediction: Steelers win 27-26 (5-4)
Week 11- Cincinnati Bengals, 1:00 ET on CBS
The dominant duo of receivers in Cincy are always tough to cover, but with both Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter, Jr. at corner, I think the Steelers are much more equipped to cover them than most teams are. I struggle to believe the Steelers will lose both games to the Bengals.
Prediction: Steelers win 31-27 (6-4)
Week 12- at Chicago Bears, 1:00 ET on CBS
Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams could certainly become quite the pair in short order, and the Steelers cannot look past this game, but the Steelers have the pass rush that can get into Williams’ head early and force him into costly mistakes. Unfortunately, I am not sure the Steelers
Prediction: Steelers win 23-16 (7-4)
Week 13- Buffalo Bills. 4:25 ET on CBS
I think the Steelers could be a playoff team, but they are simply not on the same level as Josh Allena nd the Bills. Despite this game being at home, the winning streak will come to an end quickly. I would not be surprised if Keon Coleman has emerged into a reliable weapon at this point.
Prediction: Bills win 34-20 (7-5)
Week 14- at Baltimore Ravens, 1:00 ET on CBS
The Ravens could never get over the Steelers hump, but once they came up with a solution to the problem, their running game took over and caused major issues. While I do believe the Steelers run defense will improve, I do not think they will pull off the upset on the road.
Prediction: Ravens win 28-22 (7-6)
Week 15- Miami Dolphins (MNF), 8:20 ET on ESPN/ABC
If Tua stays healthy an Tyreek keeps his emotions and behavior in check, the offense could be potent in Miami. However, I like the Steelers on Monday night with a Minkah/Ramsey/Smith reunion.
Prediction: Steelers win 23-20 (8-6)
Week 16- at Detroit Lions, 4:25 on CBS
I am a big fan of Dan Campbell, and I think his teams are eager and passionate about playing for him. There are a lot of unknowns regarding his new-look staff, but the decisions he has made to this point have been nearly flawless. I think the Lions take care of business at home, leaving the Steelers with little wiggle room in the playoff picture.
Prediction: Lions win 25-22 (8-7)
Week 17- at Cleveland Browns, 1:00 on CBS
For the same reasons I listed for the first matchup, I think the Steelers get out of Cleveland with two solid wins.
Prediction: Steelers win 20-10 (9-7)
Week 18- Baltimore Ravens, TBD
There is a high probability the Ravens will not have anything significant to play for in Week 18. On top of that, the Steelers know this is a must-win game if they want to make the playoffs, and I think the team brings every last ounce to the table to make it in.
Prediction: Steelers win 21-17 (10-7)
Huh?
You have the Steelers losing that game against the Packers.
Typo?
I’m guessing he was waffling on the Packers outcome, changed it to a loss, and forgot to update the Colts summary.
Including the yearly Tomlin 3 game losing streak. What is it, 7 years running now?
Not bad, but I got us beating GB & Indy man…… 12-5.
