Steelers add another wide receiver ahead of Phase Three of OTAs
The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to add to their 90-man offseason roster as they head into Phase Three of OTA‘s today. After attending rookie minicamp earlier this month on a tryout basis, rookie wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig has been added to the roster.

Montana Lemonious-Craig began his college career in 2020 playing three seasons in Colorado. During his three years, Lemonious-Craig appeared in 23 games with 34 receptions for 497 yards and five touchdowns. Following the 2022 season and a complete changeover of the Colorado football program, Lemonious-Craig transferred to Arizona where in two seasons he appeared in 24 games with 45 receptions for 468 yards and four touchdowns. Lemonious-Craig’s top season came in his final year at Colorado in 2022 where he had 23 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Lemonious-Craig’s best year in Arizona came the next season in 2023 with 28 receptions, 296 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.
Joining an already plentiful wide receiver room, Lemonious-Craig is now the 11th wide receiver the Steelers have on their 90-man offseason roster. For this reason, Lemonious-Craig faces an uphill battle to even make the Steelers practice squad, let alone the 53-man roster, come September. But Lemonious-Craig at least has a chance to perform for the Steelers and not be a candidate to be the player released when the Steelers add a fourth quarterback at some point ahead of training camp.
The Steelers had one roster space available to their offseason roster because they are permitted to carry 91 players. Julius Welschof is a part of the International Pathway Program which gives the Steelers an additional roster spot throughout the offseason. For this reason, there was no corresponding transaction.

Welschof’s getting really famous for +1.
Are we sure he’s not a Key and Peele character??
Just won a chuckle, JoeB.
Will he be able to get on the moving train?
Always a need for good punt team gunners and punt return team jammers. Train has left the station.
