Steelers Burning Question: How have expectations changed?
Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.
Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.
We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!
The Steelers have made some serious changes to their roster this offseason, so much so it wouldn’t be abnormal to see a fan’s overall expectations for the team look like a roller coaster. There were ups, and plenty of downs, but with the team somewhat solidified heading into camp, the question is have your expectations changed?
This question could be for the broader scope of the team and their W-L total, or it could be for individual players, like the 2025 rookie class.
How have your expectations changed, and if they haven’t, why not?

As for what I’m eating, it’s a stuffed shells night here in the house. As for drink, it’s going to be store bought kombucha and the the music will be whatever is on Spotify.

Just got home from my normal Friday night stop at the local Sun King Brewery. Drinking (gasp!) GFJ IPA. I will be cooking up some smash burgers topped with hot pepper cheese and garden grown jalapeno peppers sometime in the very near future.
As to the question — my expectations are pretty much the same. I see the world (mostly) through an optimistic lens so my expectations for the 2025 Steelers haven’t changed much. I think we’ll be better than most national pundits expect. I really like the make-up of this team currently. Hopefully injuries stay down. I DO think this is the year we get off the schneide as far as playoff wins go. At the very best, I see us as a contender to do much beyond that, but I DO like what Kahn & Co have done this off-season. Both the draft and the FA signings/trades.
Rain here, no burgers, see below. National pundits stink, too, IMHO.
Today dinner will be Capriccio’s pizza, hot subs (no one knows “hoagie”, in NC, ask Jeremy), fries, and salad. Iced tea will serve as beverage, with Andy’s frozen custard for dessert.
No, my expectations for the Pgh team haven’t changed since training camp has started and progressed to Friday Night Lights tonight. Nothing has happened to alter my opinion that this team is capable of winning 11 games in the ’25 regular season. I am eager to see if will happen IRL.

Jim Croce was special man. What a tragedy he was taken from us so early. CCR? Not my thing. I just never liked John Fogerty’s voice. Really great song writers, and musician’s I just never could get into them.

Eating a big fat egg and kielbasa burrito, drinking green tea that I’m going to wave a magic wand over in an hour or so and turn into Bells Two Hearted IPA. Listening to Kings of Leon, at the moment and have the Beach Bpys cue’d up.
Have my expectations changed? No. We dont even have a 53 man roster, so it’s waaay to early for me to recalibrate my thinking.
