Steelers sign 1st Round pick Derrick Harmon, now have entire 2025 class signed
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected seven players throughout the 2025 NFL Draft, and with Rookie Minicamp almost a week old, the team used the weekend to start to sign some of these players to their rookie contracts. Where did they start? How about the 7th Round, but they have continued to sign more players from the rookie class throughout minicamp.
In fact, they signed six of their seven draft picks during last weekend’s festivities, except one. And that one is the team’s top draft pick Derrick Harmon. However, Wednesday evening it was made known the team and Harmon have come to terms on his rookie contract, but there is more to it than he just signed his deal.
The Steelers gave Harmon his 4-year deal, and made it fully guaranteed. In other words, the $17.9 million dollar contract will be going to Harmon no matter what.
This per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:
The #Steelers agreed to terms with No. 21 pick Derrick Harmon on his four-year, $17,973,604 fully guaranteed contract.

Since the NFL and NFLPA adjusted their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) over a decade ago to a slotted contract system, signing rookies is more of a formality than breaking news. No longer are rookies holding out for the most money possible. Instead, they become footnotes during spring workouts prior to training camp. What is negotiate now are things like guarantees and potential signing bonuses.
With the rookie class all under contract, it is one less thing to worry about as the team heads towards Phase III of OTAs and Mandatory Minicamp.

Cool Beanz!
Ahead of schedule? Doesn’t it usually take until camp for that to happen?
Seems like that, JPJ took a while.
Hell yeah big man! Get to work!
