Steelers sign another undrafted rookie free agent to their roster
The 2025 NFL Draft might have concluded weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean the work is done for all 32 NFL teams. It is at this point when players who went undrafted can now sign with a team of their choice. Yes, if two teams come calling they get their choice of which team might possess the best opportunity for them, as well as the most money. Even with most teams already starting their rookie minicamps, there are some players who remain unsigned.
After the Pittsburgh Steelers draft was over after the 7th Round, the team got a head start on trying to find players who might go undrafted after the 3-day selection process concluded. The Saturday evening after the draft the team announced they had signed 7 undrafted rookie free agents.
We have agreed to terms with the following rookie free agents:
WR Roc Taylor (Memphis)
OG Aiden Williams (Minnesota-Duluth)
FB DJ Thomas-Jones (South Alabama)
WR Ke’Shawn Williams (Indiana)
S Sebastian Castro (Iowa)
K Ben Sauls (Pitt)
TE JJ Galbreath (South Dakota)— Burt Lauten (@SteelersPRBurt) April 27, 2025
The list of players who were signed as UDFAs:

- OG Aiden Williams, Minnesota-Duluth

Friday afternoon the team made the announcement there was another name being added to the list, to make eight total:

The player not mentioned above is DT Blake Mangelson, BYU.
All eight of these players are now officially under contract with the Steelers after signing contracts before the start of rookie minicamp. In the meantime, the eight players added by the Steelers include players who will now compete this offseason for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster.
Getting from the 90-man roster to the 53-man roster isn’t easy, but at least these players now have a shot.
Stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the rest of the 2025 offseason and get ready for OTAs and minicamp in just a few weeks.
