Aaron Rodgers, 41, is OK with the heavy workload he’s had at the Steelers camp.
But he’d be happy if Mike Tomlin gave him more days off, too pic.twitter.com/7TxRc4fggj

#Steelers Aaron Rodgers said he doesn’t care whether he plays in the preseason or not and that he’ll let Mike Tomlin make that call.
He did say he feels that joint practices, like the Steelers have next week, are more valuable.

#Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers on working with second-year WR Roman Wilson:
"He's just got to trust himself. He's so damn talented."
— Alan Saunders (@ASaunders_PGH) August 6, 2025
Aaron Rodgers on Will Howard's throwing hand injury: "It sucks. Sucks for him for sure because he's had such a nice camp as a young player and then watching him in mini camp and just seeing his command of the offense. But this year is a growth year for him."
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) August 6, 2025
Aaron Rodgers says the joint practice with the Buccaneers will be much more beneficial than any preseason game.
His logic? Defense play too vanilla in the preseason so they don't reveal anything on tape to the league. In joint practices, they can run their full menu.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Steelers WR Calvin Austin remains sidelined with an injury as the team begins an unpadded practice.

Joey Porter Jr. in uniform again.
Have not seen Jalen Ramsey.
Cory Trice and Donte Kent don’t look like they’re practicing either.

— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Steelers doing a one on one tackling drill (really it’s just two hand touch, but it’s to train angles). DK Metcalf took one rep against Connor Heyward lol
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
During sideline tackling drill, Mike Tomlin always talks about “white shirt tackles,” meaning offensive guys who can take good angles and eat up grass. Important drill for guys fighting for special teams roles. Skowronek, Kenny G, Max Hurleman stood out in a good way.
— Mike DeFabo (@MikeDeFabo) August 6, 2025
Rodgers fired a bullet to Scotty Miller, and it hit Miller right in the numbers but ricocheted off him to Brandin Echols for the pick.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Aaron Rodgers rips a dig route to DK Metcalf for 20+ yards.
That connection has been cooking today, and has rounded into form nicely over the last week or so.

Cam Johnston is fully back.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Roman Wilson and Aaron Rodgers have been more in sync for a second straight day. Three connections between the pair today.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
39 just got an interception of Skylar Thompson in practice, something rarely seen the past two seasons. Oh wait, that’s Daryl Porter on the field not that Minkah guy.

Brandin Echols grabbed Roman Wilson on a slant route and it would’ve been a TD if not for it. Good route by Wilson and a dot by Rodgers.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Steelers using Kenny Gainwell all around the formation. In the backfield, split out as a receiver. Versatile player.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
JJ Galbreath mosses Sebastian Castro in the corner of the end zone. Hell of a catch.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Aaron Rodgers rolls out and floats a ball over the top to Roman Wilson along the sideline. Good touch on the ball and another connection for the two.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Another two minute drill for Aaron Rodgers and another pick. Juan Thornhill picks it off over the MOF. Ball might have been tipped at the LOS.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Brandon Johnson cooking in this two minute drill. First a toe tapping drag for 25 yards and then another chunk gain on a back shoulder snag with one hand.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 6, 2025
Two nice Mason Rudolph to Brandon Johnson completions, including a one-handed catch, set the second team offense up, and Ben Sauls won it with a last second field goal. https://t.co/UgKkqLi718

S Juan Thornhill on the Steelers:
“I think we have a chance to be the best defense of all time. Seriously.”
— Chris Adamski (@C_AdamskiTrib) August 6, 2025
#Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Derrick Harmon is banged up. Didn’t seem like it’s significant.
Older guys just being rested.
Will Howard (pinky) is out this week and is week-to-week.
Calvin Austin “should be perking up” soon.
— Alan Saunders (@ASaunders_PGH) August 6, 2025
I think DK is gonna remind us of what a true number 1 WR looks like. Glad to see him and Rodgers connecting.
Seems like there have been a lot of dropped balls that go in the air and get picked off.
Yahya Black getting those hands up and batting them down is so fun. Idk why haha.
Shoutout to these articles too! I know I’ve said it before, but as someone who almost never uses twitter, this is perfect. Even if I did, just having these all lined up in order is great stuff. Thanks
I’m glad you appreciate them!
I’d watch the joint practices. If they want to get rid of all the preseason games and televise joint practices I’d be fine with it.
