Yesterday there were so many posts the article dealt with loading issues and I had to start a second tracker before practice ended. I don’t expect there to be as many posts now that Day 1 is in the books, so hopefully we can get through practice with the second tracker just being post-practice reports and interviews.
Note: Newer tweets will be added at the bottom to give a better timeline for when viewing at a later date.
HERE WE GO STEELERS!
Calvin Austin fessed up to being the player who asked Aaron Rodgers if the dolphins were paid to swim past at a specific time. Growing up in Memphis, he had never experienced the ocean before.

Payton Wilson has also made a big point of getting out early this week.
Came out with Cole Holcomb today.

Jonnu Smith comes out to the field in full practice gear like he did yesterday. A good sign that whatever kept him out of individual and team periods yesterday isn’t too serious.
We’ll see if he does more today.

Something worth noting is that Roman Wilson has for the most part been lining up as an outside WR with Calvin playing mostly in the slot when they’re on the field at the same time.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Jonnu Smith out there going through offensive walk through.
Good sign we’ll see him during team period today.

Multiple announcements over the sound system today to not film practice after a number of clips surfaced on social media yesterday.
Not a single announcement yesterday. The change seems…deliberate lol
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Injury update from what I can tell:
Jonnu Smith is in a helmet but only doing light work. We’ll see how much he does.
No Cordarrelle Patterson

For the 2nd day in a row, Jonnu Smith is not going through individual drills today.
His day is likely over.

Seven shots coming up
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
First play of seven shots is out of empty and it’s an errant snap by Zach Frazier. Play is blown dead. 1-0 defense.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
DK Metcalf beats Darius Slay on an out route and catches the touchdown in the corner of the end zone. 1-1
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025

— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Mason Rudolph targets Ke’Shawn Williams in the back of the end zone but it’s almost picked off by JPJ. 3-1 defense.

Will Howard looks for Brandon Johnson on a fade route but Cory Trice is in tight coverage. PBU.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Howard hits JJ Galbreath for the TD. Great catch by Galbreath. 3-3 (appears they wiped the snap off the stat sheet)
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Aaron Rodgers hits Pat Freiermuth on a quick TD.
Officially, 4-3 offense wins (tho there were 8 plays and they didn’t count the bad snap towards the total)
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Kaleb Johnson is such a sleek 224 (give or take). Got to the second level quickly on day one. Now he’ll try to stack days, always a challenge for any rookie pic.twitter.com/OB15Y9v693
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) July 25, 2025
Aaron Rodgers just threw a short sideline TD to DK Metcalf that was so artistically perfect it would be shown on every highlight show in the country if this were a regular season game.
— Gerry Dulac (@gerrydulac) July 25, 2025
Another Steelers team period and another defensive look with TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith swapping sides.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) July 25, 2025
2nd team period begins with a completion to Calvin Austin on a quick out.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Kenneth Gainwell gets the ball on the quick out after Ramsey blitzed Rodgers from the slot.

Offense working in some screen reps to DK
LOVE to see that; get that big man runnin!
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Roman Wilson getting a lot of outside WR snaps. Austin in the slot on most of these 11 personnel snaps.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
There’s something the Steelers offense wants to see. Aaron Rodgers drops his arm angle, hits Kaleb Johnson over the middle as the rush is bearing down. Unpadded practice rush but still, nifty little throw from Rodgers.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) July 25, 2025
Derrick Harmon got first team reps beside Cam Heyward in this first round of 1st team reps.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Mason Rudolph just let fly the deepest target of camp so far in the early going, intended for Lance McCutcheon, but nice recovery speed by cornerback Brandin Echols to break it up.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) July 25, 2025
Skylar Thompson fires to Robert Woods down the sideline but Cory Trice is draped all over him with excellent coverage.
Good day for Trice so far.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
A lot more Kaleb Johnson sprinkled in today. Made a nice catch outside his frame. Steelers giving him some chances in passing situations.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
1st teamer back out there.
Rodgers and Calvin not on the same page. Falls short.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Rodgers hits Calvin on a nice corner route for a big gain!
Offense moving the ball today.
— Jack Sperry (@jack_sperry) July 25, 2025
Derrick Harmon in the backfield again today. Really good pressure and maybe would be sack. JPJ broke it up anyways.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Steelers aren't going to get out ahead of Doppler. Stands cleared. Storm coming in.
— Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) July 25, 2025
Seventh-round rookie Donte Kent with a really nice close-and-pass breakup on UDFA tight end JJ Galbreath to end that practice period. Kent working at slot corner with the backups.
— Brian Batko (@BrianBatko) July 25, 2025
With a storm brewing, Steelers players are headed indoors. Not clear yet if they’ll come back out or call it a day. pic.twitter.com/KIIcLzRpXO

The Steelers' practice is over and was cut short. Mike Tomlin says they were hoping to get back out there, but the 'doppler didn't move enough.'
"We didn't deem it safe enough based on the Doppler info to get back out there today."
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) July 25, 2025
Good stuff. Always love reading the 7 on 7s. Big day for Trice
Watching some of clips of Howard, especially the one where he mirrored Rodgers, has gotten me very excited.
How’s Jones look?
Many are interested about this.
I think Zack Frazier would agree that in an unpadded practice the best an OL can hope for is to not get mentioned. Sooo, no news is good news?? Beyond the total whiff on Highsmith of course
