Steelers Training Camp Practice Tracker: Tracking the news from Day 8 for Friday Night Lights- Part 2
The Pittsburgh Steelers are back, and that means it’s time to get you, the loyal fan base, up to speed on what is happening at training camp practice!
It happened again. The first tracker article from practice was getting bogged down due to the number of posts with the Steelers at Friday Night Lights. Rather than skimp on the information on things such as “backs on backers”, all the post-practice information, as well as those things to finish up practice, will be put here in order to give a better viewing experience.
For the update of all the information as practice took place, check out the first Practice Tracker HERE.
Note: Newer tweets will be added at the bottom to give a better timeline for when viewing at a later date.
HERE WE GO STEELERS!
Jack Sawyer and Calvin Anderson with a fun back and forth. Anderson ran Sawyer around the arc twice but Sawyer won on the second rep with a nasty inside club rip.

Have not seen Keeanu Benton out there since early in practice. He’s on the sideline with his helmet in tow but hasn’t been in any team periods.

Dylan Cook continues to impress. Really spirited battle with Nick Herbig.

Less than stellar 2-min period for the offense.
Offense got one first down – on a defensive penalty – but the first-team unit didn’t have a single completion. Both Pat Freiermuth and DK Metcalf had drops, Metcalf’s coming on 4th-and-long that would’ve converted if caught.

Big play in the two minute drill here for Scotty Miller. Makes a great diving catch against James Pierre. About 40 yards.

Calvin Anderson limped off the field during the two minute drill. Dylan Cook replaces him at RT.

James Pierre intercepts Mason Rudolph in the corner of the end zone to snuff out the scoring chance. Defense wins both two minute drills.

Mike Tomlin said OT Calvin Anderson and CB Cory Trice sustained injuries in the practice. He expects CB Joey Porter Jr., who was in sweats, to be back soon.

Trice man, wow. Just wow. He has to be the most fragile player I’ve ever seen – toothpicks and glass. I’ll be shocked if he makes this team, no matter how much Edward C pumps him up. Dude might dislocate his shoulder brushing his teeth.
It’s not good. I think we’re seeing why he was a 7th round pick.
I dont blame them for taking a flier on him. He could be really good if he could stay on the field, but I think it’s time to end this experiment. There’s too much talent here to waste a helmet on him.
Is it odd that I’m more concerned about C. Anderson? Am I getting unsympathetic?
No! They need him. The gap between him and Jones is muuuuch smaller than most want to admit.
