The best offenses from 2024 the Steelers are set to face in 2025

After taking a look at some of the best offensive and defensive players at their positions in 2024 who the Steelers are scheduled to face in 2025, it’s time to finish up with the best offensive and defensive ranks as a team. Before moving on, here are all the groups who have been covered so far:

Rushers
Receivers
Quarterbacks
Tight Ends
Pass Rushers
Pass Defenders
Tacklers

After looking at the defense yesterday, today it’s time to check out teams who ranked at the top in the NFL in offense for 2024 who are on the Steelers schedule for 2025. The two categories for offensive rank will be yardage gained and points scored. Teams who finished in the top 10 in either category will be listed as well as their place in the other category even if it isn’t in the top 10.

Of course there have been a number of departures and arrivals for each offense the Steelers will face this season. Some of the key player movements will be noted in each description. Of the teams who appear in the top 10 in one of the two categories, the Steelers are only set to face six of them this season.

Baltimore Ravens (1st yardage, 3rd points)
Week 14, Week 18

A big part of Baltimore’s offensive success the last two seasons was Lamar Jackson staying healthy throughout the year as he only missed one game in 2023 due to rest which happened to be against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The addition of Derrick Henry shot the Baltimore‘s offense up the charts to where they led the league in yardage with 424.9 yards per game and were third in points scoring 30.5 points per game. The Ravens added wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and swapped out their backup quarterback with Cooper Rush for Josh Johnson. Their biggest departure was guard Patrick Mekari who left for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit Lions (2nd yardage, 1st points)
Week 16

The Detroit Lions were arguably the best offense in the NFL in 2024 coming in second in yardage with 409.5 yards per game while being first in points scored averaging 33.2 points. There wasn’t much change to the Lions in free agency on offense as no significant free agent was added and their only loss was guard Kevin Zietler to the Tennessee Titans.

Green Bay Packers (5th yardage, 8th points)
Week 8

The Green Bay Packers were in the top 10 of both categories in 2024 averaging 370.8 yards per game while scoring 27.1 points per game. The Packers didn’t see a huge loss in free agency on offense either as center Josh Myers signed a small deal with the New York Jets. The Packers made a big signing of guard Aaron Banks from the San Francisco 49ers for more than $19 million a season.

Cincinnati Bengals (9th yardage, 6th points)
Week 7, Week 11

If an NFL team is going to majorly neglect their defense, then their offense better be able to put up big numbers. This is the philosophy of the Cincinnati Bengals who averaged 365.5 yards per game in 2024 while scoring 27.8 points per game. Already struggling with their offensive line, the Bengals lost guard Alex Kappa to the Las Vegas Raiders and tackle Trenton Brown to the Houston Texans. The Bengals did make a low profile signing of G/C Lucas Patrick from the New Orleans Saints, but still did not invest much to overcome their problems in the trenches. Instead, the Bengals are spending the most in the NFL at the wide receiver position while also having the fourth most money tied up at quarterback.

Buffalo Bills (10th yardage, 2nd points)
Week 13

The Steelers did not face the Buffalo Bills in 2024 when they averaged 359.1 yards per game while scoring more than 30 points a game coming in at 30.9 yards. The Bills looked to add more in free agency to their wide receiver room as they signed Josh Palmer from the Los Angeles Chargers and Elijah Moore from the Cleveland Browns while losing Mack Hollins to the New England Patriots.

Minnesota Vikings (12th yardage, 9th points)
Week 4

Only cracking the top 10 in one of the categories, it will be interesting to see if the Minnesota Vikings can keep up with their 2024 output with a new, young quarterback. Last year, the Vikings averaged 346.9 yards per game while scoring 25.4 points per game. In free agency, the Vikings looked to bolster their offensive line by adding guard Will Fries and center Ryan Kelly both from the Colts. As for losses, both Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones moved on from their quarterback room as well as tackle Cam Robinson heading to the Texans and center Garrett Bradberry departing for the New England Patriots.
